Lorraine Sockman

I was formerly a Legal Assistant for 20 years working with high profile law firms before becoming a professional security agent.  My interest comes from working in the hospitality industry when I took an hiatus during my relocation to the west coast in Canada.  The tourism trade was prominent in the Province of British Columbia and the prospect of becoming a member of this spectacular trade was a blessing to me.  I had become specialist in customer services and it became my second occupation.  I still dabble in the legal arena but now focus on event security/customer services.  Protecting the public and keeping everyone safe as well as implementing crowd control in large or small venues now captures my interest and motivates me.  It's all about serving the public in a legal and professional manner.

I currently work part-time as event security from the Edmonton EXPO Centre and Edmonton Convention Centre.  It is my endeavor to seek fill time work with these Explore Edmonton.

I possess 6 years of education and the most recognizable would be an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice with Grant MacEwan University.  I have utilized this degree in various areas of law including the Department of Justice, Alberta Post Adoptions, the Law Society of Alberta and prominent law firms.  This consisted of 20 solid years of employment of utilizing my legal professional skills.
