Experience

Special Advisor/Executive Assistant, Ontario Anti-Racism Directorate (2021-Date)

Strategic Support

  • provide strategic support, including research and SME supports to the Assistant Deputy Minister (ADM)
  • provide overarching guidance on the review of Ontario’s Anti-Racism Strategy Review
  • developed and overseeing the implementation of the Division’s operational plan

EDI Competency and Capacity Building

  • providing ongoing subject matter expertise on the development and delivery of Ontario’s Anti-Racism Competency and Capacity building
  • promoting the adoption of learning experience design in the development of the learning resource
  • project lead, provided seamless communication between project team, project owners and external vendor 
  • leading the development and implementation of Divisional Accessibility training
  • led the development and rollout of Equity and Fairness - Anti-Racism in Digital Government micro-course

Lead/Senior Policy Advisor, Ontario Digital Service (2018-2021)

Digital curriculum development, delivery and evaluation

  • led the Ontario Public Service (OPS) learning curriculum development for digital government and service delivery, including learning resources for distributed teams (remote work)
  • coordinated the development of an enterprise-wide digital learning standard
  • led performance measurement and evaluation

Strategic partnership development and management

  • led partnership with Apolitical to develop Digital 101 Boot Camp with over 5000 participants across Canada, saving the organization over $500,000 in costs
  • worked with Canada School of Public Service to deliver digital training for Ontario Public Service’s (OPS) senior executives
  • led a pan-Canadian and an OPS-wide working group

Digital micro-learning sprints

  • led the development and delivery of the OPS digital micro-learning sprints in Agile, User Research, Product Management, Content Design and Web Accessibility with over 8000 participants

Accessibility in Ontario Digital Service

  • led a nudge campaign across Ontario Digital Service and the Digital First Assessment (DFA) process to support digital teams in the DFA process
  • developed an Accessibility Guide (IASR) for all obligated organizations in Ontario
  • developed and delivered a foundational accessibility module for the Ontario Public Service
  • provided consultation and advisory role to the Deputy Minister

Lead, Diversity and Accessibility, Ministry of Government and Consumer Services (2014-2018)

Strategy, planning, delivery and evaluation

  • developed, managed and assessed multi-year strategic inclusion and accessibility plans including a mental health strategy 
  • led and managed the ministry’s mentoring program for under-represented groups. MGCS had the highest number of cohorts, annually, from 2015-2018 in the OPS 
  • coordinated the ministry’s diversity and inclusion annual report to the Public Service Commission 

Stakeholder and partner management

  • developed and managed the ministry’s inclusion and accessibility networks to help promote awareness and understanding of inclusion across the organization
  • created and led the Inclusion Core Group as the corporate inclusion steering committee 

Training development, delivery, and evaluation

  • developed a training framework
  • developed, delivered, and assessed training modules and resources, including a train-the-trainer on anti-racism, privilege and bias

Consultation and advisory

  • advised ministry branches and program areas on accessibility and inclusion requirements in the ministry’s program and policy initiatives
  • member, Ontario Public Service’s Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Anti-Racism, and Accessibility Learning
