Selvi Roy

I’m a social development professional promoting equity, diversity, inclusion and community enhancement opportunities for all to experience safety, prosperity, and quality of life. 

I am passionately involved with promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion through peace as a consensus value where the community embraces safety, prosperity, and quality of life for all its people. I have professional training in social work, research, and social development and experience spanning nearly three decades. While I have significant research, coordination, and teaching experience, I have also worked extensively with diverse Indigenous communities within PEI and in international settings. 

My educational training includes a Doctoral degree in Educational Studies at UPEI, focusing on enhancing learner engagement, a Master's Degree in Social Work from Mumbai University, with a focus on working with individuals, families and the community , and a post graduate diploma in Policy and Project Planning from the International Institute of Social Studies, in the Netherlands. I have also received training in Emotional Resilience, Positive Psychology, Positive Parenting, Indigenous Research Methodologies, Results-Based Management,  Feminist Monitoring and Evaluation, and Knowledge Translation.
