Tom Silman

A UK National based in Vancouver with 5 years of graduate experience in the Biotech and Life Sciences Industry having previously worked in late stage development and manufacturing scale up for DNA sequencing devices. Further experience it top level Product Support for data heavy Biotech hardware and software. My undergraduate education was in Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Exeter and the passion for the Life Sciences, Technology and Sport drives me to succeed in these sectors. 

My professional experience to date is with Oxford Nanopore Technologies, and industry leader in next generation DNA sequencing technologies. My main job role was in the Tech Transfer department taking existing processes for manufacturing and controlling the quality of a range of DNA sequencing devices in to large scale manufacturing. The job itself spanned across multiple departments, cross-functionally collaborating with Quality Assurance, Product Management, Engineering, Logistics, R&D and Sales to take a maintain these products in a competitive and demanding marketplace. 

I studied Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Exeter, I have translated my key learnings and ability to expand my knowledge and be adaptable in to the Biotech industry and thus far, this has been very affective.
