Located at the
Springwater Emergency Services Training Centre and reporting to the Associate Dean, Human Services and Community Safety, the incumbent develops and delivers courses in the
Pre-Service Firefighter Education and Training program.

Courses may be scheduled and delivered during the day or evening.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

Delivers courses in the Pre-Service Firefighter program, primarily focusing on introductory specialized rescue
Delivers courses inperson
Develops and delivers appropriate curriculum to meet course objectives
Incorporates a variety of teaching / learning strategies to meet student needs
Evaluates student progress / achievement
Participates in program and college activities as required
Participates in program revision and renewal activities as required
Creates and maintains a positive learning environment

QUALIFICATIONS:

Certified in NFPA 1006 Standard for Technical Rescue Personnel Professional Qualification or equivalent
NFPA 1041 Standard for Fire Service Instructor Professional Level One required
NFPA 1041 Standard for Fire Service Instructor Professional Level Two would be considered an asset
A minimum of three years' experience in firefighting and specialized rescue
Excellent communication, interpersonal and problemsolving skills
Proven ability to work in a team environment and to foster the same in their students
Experience managing change and leading innovation
A commitment to lifelong learning
Experience in some or all of the following is an asset: curriculum development, a variety of delivery strategies, adult learning methodologies, academic advising, and student success strategies
Computer literacy: Microsoft Office Suite
Computer literacy with a Learning Management System / Web Delivery Software (i.e. Blackboard) and a Student Information System would be considered an asset
Teaching and Training Adults certification and / or experience in a teaching or training capacity is an asset

_Acceptable proof of education (degrees, credentials) from recognized post-secondary institutions or confirmation of international equivalencies will be required as part of the selection process._
