The Faculté de médecine vétérinaire (FMV) of the Université de Montréal is currently seeking qualified candidates for two Assistant or Associate Professor positions in Veterinary Anesthesiology and Pain Management.
The FMV is located in Saint-Hyacinthe , the agricultural capital of Quebec with inhabitants.The FMV is located 60 km (37 miles) from Montreal , a vibrant city with an international airport and excellent flight connections to Europe, the USA and South America.
The FMV is located off campus, but maintains strong collaborative ties to other faculties at the Université de Montréal and other universities within the province.

There is a varied caseload thanks to our busy small animal, equine and bovine hospitals as well as our exotic animal service.
The latter also serves a local zoo (Granby) and a large aquarium in Quebec City.through your teaching to students and your research activities, enhancing the reputation of your discipline and playing an active role in the overall operations of a renowned institution.
Participate in didactic teaching of Anesthesiology and Pain Management to undergraduate and graduate students;Participate in the clinical teaching of the Anesthesiology Service to DVM students and graduate students (including interns and residents).
The anesthesia service has recently acquired cutting-edge equipment, allowing new professors to develop their clinical skills and/or perform innovative clinical research;Develop research activities in the field of Anesthesiology and Pain Management. Contribute to outreach activities in your discipline (publications, conferences, and others);
Contribute to the overall operations of the University.
Contribute to the after-hours, holiday and weekend emergency duties according to the conditions established by the CHUV.
Have successfully completed a residency in Anesthesiology and be a diplomate of the American College of Anesthesiologists (ACVA) or of the European College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia (ECVAA);
Applications from board-eligible individuals, as well as residents in the process of graduation will also be considered;
Strong interest in teaching, clinical service, and research;
An adequate knowledge of the French written and spoken language or a strong commitment to mastering the proficiency level required, in accordance with Université de Montréal's Language Policy .
