CPC Pumps specializes in designing, manufacturing, testing, and servicing of engineered heavy duty process centrifugal pumps (API 610 Compliant) for the CCUS, Green Energy / Circular Economy, H2, LNG, Chem-Petrochem and power-generating industry since 1957.

CPC Pumps is looking for a talented professional to join our team to fill the role of
Buyer.

Purpose


The
Buyer will be responsible for selecting and developing vendors/suppliers based on quality, price, logistics, capacity and performance; negotiating price and terms with suppliers and actively looking for ways to reduce cost while securing the best parts and services for the assembly of our products.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Procure parts and components for production needs in accordance with production plan and forecast
  • Develop a strong network of vendors who can delivery zero defect parts and components at competitive prices and ensure that such parts and components comply with the Company's Pumps product engineering and material specifications
  • Negotiate prices and terms with vendors and when appropriate sign a supply agreement to cover mutual interests
  • Communicate relevant information to your internal stakeholders and support them in their project, budget and planning
  • Consult with existing and possible new suppliers to offer suggestions on improvements
  • Create and drive solutions to improve the ontimedelivery (OTD) and lead times

Qualification Requirements

  • Enthusiastic and resultdriven professional with a passion for procurement
  • Team player who works with others to resolve problems quickly.
  • Wellorganized and selfmotivated
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
  • High energy and motivation levels and feel comfortable in a fast paced, change oriented environment
  • Comfortable with ERP software
  • Ability to read blueprints is an asset
  • Occasional travel to visit existing or potential suppliers may be required

Education and/or Experience

  • 2 to 5 years of purchasing and materials control experience in a mechanical packages manufacturing environment
  • Pumps and Compressors experience is an asset
  • Understanding of metal casting processes (sand and investment) and materials (ASTM) is an asset

Physical Demands

  • Office environment involves sedentary work with repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment where problems occur and volumes are heavy

Work Environment

  • Must be aware of and comply with all relevant safety policy and procedures
  • Occasional travel includes visits to vendors
