- Completion of an accredited nursing education program
- Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP)
- Successful completion of specified free courses if no recent RN practice
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) - Health Care Provider registration through Heart & Stroke
- One to two years of recent Cardiothoracic ICU experience
- Completion of OPACCA program or equivalent Critical Care certification
- Current certifications in various specialized procedures
- Charge RN experience in CVICU
- Demonstrated strong assessment, organizational, and patient care skills
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities

Your Opportunity:
This role offers a unique opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit, where they will provide specialized care to patients post cardiac, heart, lung, and heart/lung transplant surgeries. As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, the nurse will be involved in all aspects of patient care, from assessment to evaluation, making collaborative decisions with the team.

Your responsibilities will include employing critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, along with providing education, counseling, and advocacy for patients and their families.
