BA- Administrator - Festival Operations - Ottawa Bluesfest
Desired Contract Length: 26 Weeks
Start Date: January 8, 2024
End Date: Initial term approved to the Province of Ontario's current fiscal year end, March 31, 2024. Additional weeks, ending July 5, 2024 is pending the approval of Ottawa Festivals' fiscal year JCP program agreement.
Work Schedule:
Full Time - 4 business days (32 hours per week)

Job Summary:
This position is funded through _Ontario's Job Creation Partnerships_ (see more details below).
Reporting to and working under the direction of the Director of Operations and the Site Operations Manager, the Site Operations Assistant is responsible for assisting with festival operational issues, logístical needs, and office administration.
The Opportunity:
- Responsible for ordering onsite supplies such as motorized vehicles, beverages, etc.
- Review the current, and help prepare, the Emergency Preparedness Plan for the current festival year.
- Work with signage and graphics team to prepare festival site for all necessary signage.
- Assist with setting up the onsite administrative office, logístical and operational aspects of the festival site
- Assist in overseeing a team of volunteers (gates, signage) throughout the festival period.
- Assist with coordinating vendor logistics/setup and other logistics needs onsite as assigned.
- Responsible for sourcing and acting as liaison for all food concessionaires, craft artisans and vendors.
- Work closely with suppliers and sponsors to ensure that contractual obligations are being met.
- Postfestival: ensure payments are received and tracking is completed for 2023 season.
- Work on annual community initiatives that will culminate at the festival.
Skills and Qualifications Required:
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize; proven success multitasking in a high pressure environment.
- Proven ability to think creatively and strategically.
- Working knowledge of POS systems; advanced knowledge of MS Office & Google Apps.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team; excellent written and oral communication skills; French is an asset.

Eligible to participate in Ontario's Job Creation Partnership (JCP) program by meeting the following criteria:
- An unemployed job seeker or those employed less than 20 hours per week (part-time students and graduates may apply)
- Live in Ontario
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Have one, or both, of the following criteria
:Established an Employment Insurance (EI) benefit claim (regular or maternity/parental benefits ONLY): - Paid into Employment Insurance (EI) payroll premiums, in five
of any five of the last ten years while earning an annual gross income of at least $2000 in each of the five years.
Remuneration:
$662 (gross) per week provided by the Province of Ontario ($ based on 32 hours per week).
