    JOB OPENING: Power Engineer at Daiya Foods

    SUMMARY

    Our Power Engineer is a crucial member of our Maintenance team, responsible for troubleshooting, providing preventative and corrective maintenance support to production lines, and managing equipment change-overs. This role involves operating, maintaining, and overseeing equipment within the plant to ensure optimal production levels with minimal downtime. Key focus areas include pressurized systems, boilers, thermal engineering, ammonia systems, fluid mechanics, technical and basic instrumentation, and industrial electronics. Collaborating with the Maintenance team is essential to deliver new projects, handle work orders, and adhere to a Preventive Maintenance Program.

    Shift Time: 10pm to 6:30am

    Salary: $34.50 per hour + $0.75 Graveyard Premium

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Ensure safe and consistent operation of the Steam Boiler Plant, Ammonia/Glycol Refrigeration Plant, and Process System
    • Monitor, maintain, and repair HVAC systems and human comfort systems
    • Complete daily logs and follow preventative maintenance schedules
    • Respond promptly to maintenance requests to minimize downtime
    • Proactively identify and address machine failures to prevent reoccurrence
    • Read and interpret mechanical and control drawings
    • Install, inspect, and repair mechanical equipment
    • Collaborate with Production and Maintenance teams to enhance efficiency
    • Adhere to safety regulations and company policies
    • Report deviations in processes, defects, or non-conformances immediately
    • Maintain power tools and ensure compliance with safety inspections
    • Follow SQF, OHS, and GMP standards
    • Undertake assigned duties and projects

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • 4th Class Power Engineer Certification
    • Minimum 1 year of Power Engineer experience in a manufacturing setting with ammonia systems
    • Strong maintenance skills
    • Experience in a food manufacturing facility is advantageous

    RELATED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

    • Willingness to work overtime and weekends when needed
    • Familiarity with SOPs, HACCP, and Good Manufacturing Practices
    • Knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations
    • Effective communication and teamwork skills
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects effectively
    • Proficiency in written and verbal English communication
    • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office)
    • Determined, detail-oriented, and confident in issue resolution
    • Keen attention to detail
