Senior Contracts and Procurement Specialist (Hybrid) page is loaded Senior Contracts and Procurement Specialist (Hybrid)Apply locations Saint John time type Full time posted on Posted 9 Days Ago job requisition id R123937 The Senior Contracts and Procurement Specialist is accountable for developing and implementing sourcing and category strategies, leading sourcing initiatives, procuring assets and managing supplier contracts, relationships and performance, supporting Irving Oil's Engineering Services, Refinery and Terminals operations across North America.

Manage the strategic sourcing process, including RFx initiatives, proposal evaluations, negotiation strategies, contract negotiations, execution, and maintenance.
Ability to judge complex situations, identify critical aspects of issues, creatively use data sources, structure complex analyses, think through solutions, develop recommendations and sell to stakeholders.
Manage contracts and supplier relationships, including the development and implementation of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement and increased value.
Implement supply management methodologies, processes, policies and procedures.Understand legal concepts as they pertain to proposals, contracting and executing on existing contracts.
Assist with mentoring / learning / coaching with junior and intermediate members of the team.
Ability to develop strategic visions and create plans for implementation.
Strong ability to work as part of a team, network, and build relationships.
Strong contract drafting skills and knowledge of contract law.
Ability to evaluate and mitigate commercial risks.
Ability to be flexible and adapt well to change.
Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation or other similar designation an asset.
~10 years of experience in Supply Chain Management.
~ Experience in engineering services or construction & maintenance procurement is an asset
~ Financial acumen would be considered an asset.
~ Experience working in the oil and gas industry is an asset.
~ Good knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint (create, populate, update).
