DASCH is a non-profit organization established in 1974 dedicated to exploring and meeting the residential, day program, respite and foster care needs of youth and adults.

We support people living in over 50 homes and two day programs throughout Winnipeg. People can participate in personalized social, educational, vocational, and recreational services that provide learning opportunities and greater independence.

Position Summary:


Responsibilities:


  • Scheduling and coordinating meetings, appointments, and events.
  • Prepare meeting materials, agendas, and minutes, and ensure timely distribution to board members. Coordinate meeting logistics, including booking venues, arranging audiovisual equipment, and organizing catering when necessary.
  • Provide general administrative support, including answering phone calls, managing incoming and outgoing mail, organizing files and documents, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and other materials for board meetings or external stakeholders, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and professionalism.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information, ensuring proper storage and retrieval systems are in place.
  • Collaborate effectively with CDO, other administrative staff, board members, and key stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination and communication.
  • Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned, such as event planning, research, or other tasks that support the foundation's objectives.

Skills and Qualifications:


  • Proven experience as an administrative assistant or in a similar role, preferably supporting executives or board members.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficient in using productivity tools such as Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and virtual meeting platforms.
  • Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and demonstrate a proactive attitude.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines.

Work Hours:


  • Part Time 20 hours per week
  • 12month term position with possibility of extension
  • Monday to Friday
  • Flexible hours (availability for some evening board meetings)
