    The Bishop Strachan School ('BSS') has been a leader in girls' education since 1867.     Boarding at BSS offers girls in Grades 8 to 12 a unique opportunity for growth and learning in a supportive environment where they reside on campus, enjoying convenient access to school facilities. Recognizing the significant step of leaving home, we prioritize support to ease the transition, fostering a warm and encouraging atmosphere. Boarding fosters self-reliance, self-awareness, and leadership skills, enhancing both academic success and personal development. Our dedicated Boarding Advisors ensures a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment while supporting students in building confidence and resilience.

    Living in Boarding at BSS:

  • The apartment and meals are provided as part of the compensation package
  • Live in boarding full-time from the end of August until the end of School year (end of June)
  • Includes a furnished apartment (suitable for one person only) within the Boarding School. Pets are also not permitted
  • The schedule, prepared by the Dean of Boarding, is composed of various day/evening/overnight and weekend shifts
  • Extensive health and dental benefits package
  • Administration contributes to our robust Pension Plan which is up to 8% match.
