The Position


The Oncology Sales Manager (OSM) provides inspirational leadership and direction to the Sales Team to successfully exceed performance objectives aligned to AstraZeneca's strategic direction.


Main duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides inspirational leadership and direction to the Sales Team in order to successfully exceed performance objectives.
  • Build strategic and longterm partnerships with relevant Oncology influencers and decision makers in the complex Oncology ecosystem.
  • Collaboration across functional areas to drive positive patient outcomes that align to organizational objectives.
  • Discover and meet the needs of internal and external customers by building relationships, identifying strategic business opportunities and delivering innovative solutions.
  • Develop an impactful team through effective coaching and mentoring in a highly competitive environment.
  • Build a motivating team culture which encourages continued growth and provides consistent recognition while challenging self and the team for continuous selfdevelopment in their current role and for future opportunities.
  • Demonstrate strong business ethics, understand business principles and interpret resources available to make sound business decisions to help the team achieve standards of business excellence.
  • Collect and report Adverse Events in accordance with AstraZeneca policies and procedures
Essential Requirements

  • University degree.
  • Minimum of 710 years pharmaceutical experience with at least 2 as sales representative or in a customer facing role and 3+ years experience of team/people management.
  • Track record of strong sales performance in Oncology or specialty care experience is preferred. Previous experience in an AstraZeneca Oncology Therapeutic Area would be an asset
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, financial management and written & oral communications skills.
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset.
  • Experience launching new products or indications in a highly specialized market (Oncology, Specialty Care) is an asset
  • Previous exposure and/or experience in other functional areas of the business, i.e., Sales Training, Customer Solutions, Diagnostics, Sales Operations, and Marketing is an asset
  • Adaptability and strong advocate of change
  • Demonstrated experience and mastery in delivering a cross functional solutionbased approach (KAM).
  • Ability to travel to manage sales team across Canada.
