Purpose:


Reporting to the Director of EBS, Athene seeks a dynamic and proactive individual to join their actuarial valuation team focusing on the performance/re-underwriting of our strategic transactions, ALM and regulatory reporting.


Accountabilities:

  • Produce and review quarterly Bermuda Economic Balance Sheet (EBS) Results
  • Develop and maintain asset and liability models
  • Provide support to new business transactions
  • Work closely with asset managers and risk department to review asset assumptions.
  • Communicate results to senior management and investors
  • Document and build out of necessary controls
  • Improve and modernize parts valuation and financial reporting processes

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics or any quantitative field
  • FSA or ASA working towards FSA (or equivalent) 3+ years' experience working in the life insurance industry
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage several projects is a must
  • Demonstrated desire to take initiative and run with projects
  • Experience with any of the following would be beneficial:
  • Annuities / Pension Risk Transfers-
  • Embedded Value Reporting-
  • Principal Based Reserving-
  • Asset-Liability management-
  • Internal Capital Model-
  • CGAAP Reporting/CALM/LICAT-
  • Indexed / Variable Annuities-
  • Proficient in MS Office suite and any actuarial valuation software
  • Comfortable working in a flat structured organization and interacting with executive management/investors is essential
  • Ability to view "big picture", understand broad corporate impacts, and focus on company objectives
  • Excellent oral and written English language skills
