What you will be doing:


  • Provide daytoday leadership, coordination, planning, and deployment of the construction team, while contributing to the overall culture, strategy, and performance of the organization.
  • Plan, implement, maintain, control, and evaluate construction project activities, analyze and solve issues and make effective decisions to ensure assigned projects meet budgets, targets, and goals
  • Foster relationships with diverse external and internal stakeholders, including our Habitat for Humanity team, community partners, volunteers, government, and members of the public.
  • Work with the Affiliate and Construction teams to ensure that an effective, collaborative culture on the job site drives Habitat's core mandate of serving families, while coordinating project plans between partner organizations
  • Execute the safety program, policies and continuous improvement efforts, with clear accountability for safetyrelated performance within the construction program.
  • Secure new and existing trades for each build and secures inkind donations of materials.
  • Adapt construction management activities for volunteer participation where safe and appropriate in conjunction with Volunteer Manager.
  • Prepare budget estimates
  • Other related duties

What you will bring:


  • High school with postsecondary education is preferred
  • Red Seal Carpentry certificate is an asset
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in project management
  • Solid background in residential house construction
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office
  • Deep understanding of OHS requirements and prevention strategies
  • Successful track record of ensuring projects meet budget, quality, and performance specifications and regulatory requirements
  • Mixed use experience with developer/contractors
  • Excellent organization skills and ability to train others
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and relationship management skills
  • Effective project and technical leadership skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed
  • Valid driver's license, with clean drivers abstract
  • Passion for the Habitat for Humanity mission
