RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre.

Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University.

The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position summary

Assists the Director of the Centre for Bone and Periodontal Research in the installation, operation, and maintenance of equipment for the platform.

General Duties

Imaging:

Perform imaging tasks including Micro-CT scans, DEXA scan, X-Ray radiography and biomechanical testing on rodent animals/specimens and other nonbiological materials of various types,
Provide trainings to students to use the instruments and analyze software,
Offer consultations to investigators or students in imaging strategy and methods that are involved in their research projects.

Histology:

Perform histological tasks including paraffin embedding, sectioning and staining on animal tissues specifically on hard tissues,
Use histology equipment including tissue processor, embedding centre and microtome etc.

Management:

Daily lab management: instrument maintenance and lab supply ordering etc,
Create and modify SOPs procedures,
Use and modify service database that is used to track service requests, produce management reports and invoices.

Pay Scale:
$47, $87,887.80, commensurate with education & work experience

Work Shift:
Weekdays 9 am to 5pm
