Job Description:


  • Under the administrative direction of the Associate Manager, Marketing and Systems, the Communications and Marketing Officer is responsible for the planning, development and implementation of strategic marketing and communications initiatives to students, partners, employers, internal stakeholders such as schools, faculties, departments and services.


The incumbent will assist in identifying the marketing and communications needs of the ELI (Experiential Learning and Innovation) division comprised of Experiential Learning and Entrepreneurship and Applied Research, ensuring alignment with the College's overarching strategic plan and departmental direction.

The incumbent is also responsible for maintaining statistical data related to tracking and conversion for the effectiveness of marketing programs including lead generation, engagement, and work-integrated learning (WIL) data.


The incumbent must develop and maintain strong relationships with College stakeholders, clients and vendors and ensures that established best practices, branding guidelines and AODA (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act) compliance are deployed to provide exceptional project management and service.

The incumbent markets student talent and value to employers which must result in securing and maintaining exceptional WIL opportunities for college students through Coop, Applied Research, and other related activities.

The incumbent works in close collaboration with other members of the ELI team, faculty, administrators, internal college departments and an extensive list of external stakeholders.


Responsibilities:


  • Project Management & Execution
  • Establishes production timelines and coordinates schedules across diverse groups of College stakeholders;
  • Independently manages and tracks project statuses;
  • Consults and liaises with Department, School, Faculty, and other stakeholders regularly to ensure business objectives are met;
  • Responsible for overseeing scheduled milestones according to established processes. As such, plays a role in timeline decision making;
  • Evaluates potential tactics as well as reviews the creative execution to ensure strategic direction is met;
  • Seeks opportunities to identify and action process improvements relating to marketing programs;
  • Contracts and supervises marketing initiatives subcontracted to external resources including Web developers, advertising agencies, graphic designers, copywriters, media planners and buyers;
  • Manages communication and marketing budgets, including tracking expenditures, monitoring success, and developing and presenting postcampaign/initiative reports;
  • The incumbent coordinates project resource needs and coordinates requests with the college marketing and communications department, establishes and maintains project timelines and budgets, as well as ensures that appropriate levels of conversion tracking and measurement are deployed, and program results are reported;
  • Approves invoices for all contracted services and distributes original invoice to the Administrative Assistant for processing.
  • Creation & Production
  • Develops copy for web site content, sales support and advertising to ensure key messages are captured;
  • Oversees the production of largescale marketing program deliverables including videos, radio and television production, web content, digital ads, print advertising and collateral requirements;
  • Produces graphic collateral that adheres to identity standards of the college;
  • Leads all social media strategy and execution for the division;
  • Tests content with target audience;
  • Recommends and implements content changes to improve website conversion.
  • Strategic Planning
  • Involved in the development and planning of advertising media campaigns for all ELI departments and works with advertising media and external advertising agencies in this regard, to determines rates, produce schedules and budgets for approval;
  • Collaborates with Faculty Marketers, Directors, Managers, Chairs, and Program Coordinators on the development and planning of marketing initiatives for all areas of the College;
  • Sets the tactical direction through the development of concise marketing and communications briefing and planning documents;
  • Identify research requirements, conducts research to support decision making and recommends the appropriate methodology or plan;
  • Audits invoices for all contracted services and distributes original invoice to the Marketing Budget Officer for processing.
