Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for day-to-day checking, validating, and reconciling of employees' payroll data to work schedules, billings, and the payroll system for the accurate capture of details.

Responding to government requests, assisting with the implementation of system modules, and providing vacation relief will be required. Other duties will be assigned commensurate with skills and experience gained as the organization expands. You are extremely detail-oriented; making sure that information is shared clearly, and accurate records are kept.

What You Will Do

  • Download daily work schedules and payroll documents for all sites
  • Crosscheck timesheets and nonworked statutory holidays to the work schedules
  • Update employee data on Payworks Time and Attendance, Time Management and Absence Management modules
  • Reconcile employee accruals and entitlements according to collective agreements and policies
  • Reconcile employee benefits to billings
  • Prepare payroll reports to track effective dates for benefits, rates, and other compensation changes
  • Complete WCB and ICBC payroll reports
  • Complete Service Canada and Canada Revenue Agency reports as needed
  • Participate in the implementation and development of payroll systems
  • Assist with vacation relief
  • Assist with other payroll initiatives and tasks arising from company growth and expansion

Your Qualifications - The Must Have's:

  • Strong attention to detail and clerical aptitude
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced setting under time pressure with deadlines
  • 2 years of payroll experience
  • National Payroll Institute PCP certification or Payroll Fundamentals I course completion
  • Certificate or diploma in Business Administration preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Experience using a payroll/HR system, Payworks HCM preferred
  • Ability to communicate proficiently in English
  • The ability to work well within a team environment
