We manufacture industry-leading battery cell testing equipment in Canada and we're growing our high-performance synthetic graphite anode material manufacturing operations in the United States.

Through advanced R&D capabilities, proprietary technology, and strategic partnerships, NOVONIX has gained a prominent position in the electric vehicle and energy storage systems battery industry and is powering a cleaner energy future.

This person will report directly to the Lead Cell Research Scientist and is responsible for leading and implementing research and development projects with internal teams and external customers.

Cell Research Scientist, you will be joining a world-class battery cell R&D team that is delivering innovative solutions to tough problems.

Leading and implementing internal and customer battery prototyping and testing projects including stakeholder communication, experimental design, battery testing, analysis, reporting, and meeting end of program deliverables
Scheduling and delegating tasks to other members of the project team
Regularly providing technical feedback and project updates to Lead Cell Research Scientist
Working with internal and external data tools, analyzing data and generating reports
Hold regular meetings to discuss results, schedules, and project plans
A graduate with a master's degree in chemistry, physics, or related engineering program (required)
A professional with a minimum of 3 years of work experience in electrochemical or lithium-ion research
Experienced leading a small research team
Able to demonstrate strong data analysis skills
Knowledgeable of common battery testing equipment (Maccor, Neware, Biologic, etc.)
Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Proficient in Microsoft 365

PhD in Chemistry, Physics, or related engineering program
Scripting knowledge (Python, Matlab, etc.)
Experience with design of experiment (DOE) software
Database design experience
Project Management certification (PMP, etc.)
