- Oversees day-to-day program delivery to ensure program quality, that it's running smoothly, scheduling, basic financials, staffing, and curriculum.
- Maintain consistent communication with team. Manage staff team by providing recommendations for hiring, complete performance reviews, coach where needed, recommendations for disciplinary actions, and complete training to staff to ensure compliance and funding requirements.
- Engages in community partnerships by participating in community meetings, facilitates advisor groups, and communicate with stakeholders to create effective relationships with other communities that are using the program.
- Support implementation of strategic and work plan by actively participating in work groups for plans and engage with the director to ensure for smooth implementation.
- Ensure all cash handling procedures are followed at all times.
- Support program delivery at the frontline level when needed and works with participants on a one-on-one basis to ensure that program runs as it is supposed to.
- Works as a supervisor to a team of three or more members.
- Assign and schedule the work of others. Complete all other administrative tasks as needed accurately and in a timely matter.
- University Degree in Recreation Management, Education, Social Work, Psychology, Ecology, or Sociology
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Non-Profit Organizations, or Human Services
- Specialized knowledge in Non-Profit Organizations, Housing field, Children and Youth families
- Standard First Aid & CPR-C
- Able to obtain a Police Information Check and Vulnerable sector and Child Intervention/Enhanced Security check

Description
As a Program Supervisor at the Y, you provide effective leadership to 2 community-based programs, Family Connect & Youth Transitional Program. The Family Connect is a team of Family Support Workers who supports parents and caregivers who have children ages 0-6. The supervisor supports the team conducting intakes, in home visits, caseload management, skill building for goals, screens and supports. The Youth Transitional Program is a program that provides support to youth aged 11–19 who are facing barriers in their lives in the community of Fort Chipewyan. These barriers could be related to school, employment, peers, family, housing or addictions. The team consists of a program lead and youth workers. The supervisor supports the team for 1-1 mentorships, workshops, events, cultural activities, suicide prevention, employment and more. The Supervisor also supports the Wood Buffalo Family Resource Network and the community of Fort Chipewyan through engagement activities, events, meetings and other networking activities.
This is a full-time position that includes flexible work hours including days, evenings, and weekend to support families where they are at. In consultation with the Program Manager, the Supervisor oversees onsite and off-site activities, creates, recommends, monitors, reports and evaluates programming for service delivery. The Supervisor is responsible to work within an approved budget, and a variety of programs with a cross sectional populations, and multiple funders/stakeholders. This position requires regular use of a vehicle and must be able to support a schedule to including working shifts that include days, evenings, and weekends.
