  • Located in the heart of Downtown Toronto, The DoubleTree by Hilton Toronto Downtown boasts of 490 guest rooms and 13,500 sq ft of flexible Meeting and Event space. We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager, who has a passion for guests services and loves working with people._
Scope


Reporting to the General Manager, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient administration and management of all human resources functions at the hotel.


Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • recruiting
- interviewing
- hiring
- retention of qualified employees
- overseeing payroll functions
- direction and administration of the employee reward & recognition program
- making sure employees are developed and utilized to their maximum potential by controlling the implementation, administration, and monitoring of all training programs including the ones mandated by the brand.
- development, implementation, and administration of policies and programs related to the management of all hotel staff
- making sure the hotel's HR function complies with all provincial and federal laws, implementing new procedures and communicating any new requirements to the team
- preparing annual budget forecasts for the Human Resource department
- being responsible for health and safety programs and WSIB benefits
- maintaining all hotel personnel records and Human Resource files, ensuring confidentiality
- working in a unionized environment to ensure employees are happy and thereby optimizing productivity and retention.
- manage all labor relations activities by administering union contracts and ensuring compliance. Respond to all grievances in writing, negotiate settlements and act as the hotel representative at all arbitrations.
- perform any other job related duties as assigned

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent education/experience required 3 years, human resources experience required
  • Knowledge of laws pertaining to HR
  • Strong employee relations experience
  • Hospitality experience preferred
  • Excellent written & verbal communication
  • Strong analytical, problem solving & organization skills
  • Ability to multitask in demanding environment
  • Microsoft Office skills required
  • Payroll knowledge required
  • Experience in a unionized environment will be an asset.
  • Branded hotel experience will be preferred.
