    Our Client

    • Is a well-known alternative asset manager.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Be the first in-house Employment Counsel for the company.
    • Supervise and enhance HR/Employment Relations operations thoroughly, optimizing each step of the employee lifecycle from hiring to departure.
    • Take charge of HR programs, focusing on improving benefits and streamlining onboarding for maximum effectiveness.
    • Offer consistent assistance in performance management, helping managers provide valuable feedback throughout the year.
    • Ensure strict legal and HR compliance globally across all operational sites, keeping abreast of legal requirements.
    • Analyze and adjust policies for new sites, ensuring they meet evolving needs.
    • Cultivate a vibrant high-performance culture through engaging and inclusive programs.
    • Utilize advanced HR analytics to support strategic decision-making in the Talent Team.
    • Supervise an HR associate, fostering their development and assigning tasks based on their strengths.
    • Lead continual strategic enhancements in HR/Legal operations to boost efficiency and adaptability.
    • Promote a culture of ongoing learning and growth to empower employees in their professional development.

    Requirements

    • LLB or JD and a qualified Lawyer with the Law Society of Ontario HR Leadership credential, preferred.
    • 8 - 12 years of background in private practice and/or a relevant industry in an Employment Law and/or HR role
    • Passionate about working onsite in downtown Toronto, flexible in scheduling to meet team and business requirements.
    • Balances strategic thinking at a director level with a hands-on approach, willing to participate in administrative duties.
    • Displays a customer-centric mindset, dedicated to efficiently accomplishing HR goals.
