This position offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside not only scientists, staff and trainees in our dynamic team focused on 'translational' research (i.e. moving exciting findings from the laboratory to clinical evaluation), but also 'patient partners' (i.e. patients and caregivers with diverse lived experiences).

  • Developing study protocols, surveys and interview guides
  • Codeveloping patient engagement strategies and coordinating engagement
  • Conducting interview and survey studies
  • Designing and facilitating educational workshops and resources
  • Assisting other group members with coordination of patient engagement
  • Providing consultations on patient engagement
  • Assisting with manuscript writing
  • Codeveloping accessible dissemination strategies
  • Assisting with grant preparation and submissions
  • Assisting with ethics submissions
  • Screening studies and extracting relevant data for systematic reviews

Basic Requirements:


  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a health research environment and a secondary diploma
  • Evidence of training certification in Tri-Council Policy Statement 2 (TCPS2) and the International Conference on Harmonisation
  • Good Clinical Practice Guidelines (ICH-GCP)
  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated experience engaging with patients/caregivers and/or other diverse knowledge user groups
  • Experience conducting interview, survey and/or focus group studies
  • Quantitative (e.g. analysis of survey results) and/or qualitative (e.g. thematic content analysis) research training and experience
  • Strong time management skills and ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects
  • Flexible approach to meet demanding deadlines as required
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and adherence to protocol requirements
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in NVIVO, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team

Preferred Qualification:


  • Bachelor/Master's degree in a health sciencerelated field or equivalent
  • Understanding of, and experience with, patient engagement in research
  • Previous publications
  • Experience in a hospital research environment (translational, clinical or a combination)

Contract Details:

This is a full time, two-year contract with the possibility of renewal. Please note that this is an in-person (on site) position.

Min: $24.929/hr
