SCOPE

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide leadership in the management of the oncampus and virtual student recruitment portfolio, including the universitywide Open House, admissions advising, campus tours, the student ambassador program, and information sessions/events. Oversee the operations of the Welcome Centre and recruitment administrative services. Managerial oversight for other recruitment portfolios as assigned.
  • Ensure the successful planning, budgeting, execution and ongoing evaluation of project plans. Identify and recommend new opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Recruitment management team to ensure the quality of the future student experience from inquiry to registration. Monitor feedback and set objectives for growth. Recommend unit budget.
  • Hire, train, manage, supervise and motivate staff. Monitor key performance indicators. Support continuous training and professional development.
  • Develop and implement universitywide domestic and international strategic recruitment plans to meet university enrolment goals and enhance the quality and diversity of the applicant pool.
  • Initiate and oversee the development of virtual and inperson collaborative initiatives with other internal units that support the future student experience.
  • Liaise with faculty enrolment managers, faculty recruiters, admissions staff and related stakeholders to ensure continuous improvement to recruitment practices.
  • Actively monitor demographic trends, social and economic factors, student mobility trends, and changes in secondary school curriculums that may affect the University's ability to meet its enrolment goals. Analyze statistical findings to identify potential applicant markets at the national and international level.
  • Develop recommendations and strategies pertaining to the use of tools used in support of the recruitment operations, including the CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system, thirdparty lead generation platforms, and digital platforms.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of program offerings, enrolment policies and procedures, and campus services. Act as a primary resource to recruitment staff and coordinate with other internal stakeholders to resolve complex prospective student and applicant problems.
  • Collaborate with key contacts at other institutions to share information and to develop jointuniversity initiatives.
  • Represent Concordia on various external committees.
  • Represent Concordia at domestic and international recruitment events to advise prospective students and raise the profile of the University.
  • Perform other duties in support of the operation of the unit.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree with four to seven years of relevant recruitment or admissions experience in a higher education institution
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management experience.
  • Indepth understanding of recruitment best practices, opportunities, and challenges.
  • Good knowledge (Level 4) of spoken and written English and French in order to communicate effectively, develop and deliver presentations, and to draft correspondence, documentation, and reports.
  • Good knowledge (Intermediate level) of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge and experience using collaboration and project management tools.
  • Knowledge of Canadian and international education systems.
  • Exceptional public speaking skills.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, cultural awareness, and the ability to deal effectively and diplomatically with faculty, staff, students, and senior administrators.
  • Strong planning, organizational, decisionmaking and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and establish priorities with mínimal supervision in a fast paced and highpressure environment.
  • Strong ability to motivate and engage staff, influence change, and cultivate crosscampus relationships.
