- This position is the primary contact for initiatives associated with the provision of affordable housing options for off-reserve, on- and off-settlement Indigenous populations in the province.
- You will work closely with Indigenous governments and housing providers to establish and implement housing programs and capital projects.
- You will also provide financial analysis, monitoring, and reporting services to ensure Indigenous governments and housing providers are aware of and provide consistent information with housing program and capital project accountability policies, standards, and guidelines.
- You will conduct on-site operational reviews to ensure program delivery complies with established agreements and policies.
- You represent the division at public events, tours, and attend meetings with housing providers and stakeholders to explain government requirements related to the delivery of housing programs and capital projects.
- This position develops and manages relationships with Indigenous governments and housing providers and works closely with Housing Division representatives, cross-ministry partners, municipal and federal government partners, and external stakeholders.
- This role provides consultative, advisory, and liaison services to Indigenous governments and housing providers.
- You will provide advice and expertise related to financial accountability requirements and recommended approaches associated with delivery of housing programs and capital projects.
- Analyze budgets, audits, and business plans, and other submissions received from Indigenous governments and non-profit housing providers and provide guidance, input, and recommendations during allocation of approved budget, including developing funding documents and letters.
- You also review housing provider and program-related information in order to respond to enquiries, determine trends, and report on housing program and capital project outcomes.
- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.
- Experience working with Indigenous communities and housing providers.
- Best practices related to the housing industry and an understanding of government housing programs.
- A Financial Designation.
- Experience with legal agreements and/or interpreting legislation.
- Knowledge of Stronger Foundations affordable housing strategy and have the ability to work closely with and implement changes to policies and agreements within the department and with other Ministries.

Qualifications
Required:
University graduation in Commerce, business Administration, Accounting or a related field, plus 4 years progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent as described below. Experience with budgeting, forecasting, auditing principles, theories (GAAP, PSAS) will be essential to this role.
A valid driver's license is required as travel within the province of Alberta is a requirement for the role.
