We are seeking a Production Team Leader to join our Rokeby Site Production Team located at our Rokeby Site in Corunna, Ontario, near Sarnia, Ontario.

You will be supporting the manufacturing process to ensure the safe operation of our facility by supporting and managing the performance of the Shift Supervisors and Operations Technicians in the production units.


You Will Use Your Expertise To:
Provide effective people leadership to Shift Supervisors and Operations Technicians.
Deliver and support achievement of KPIs related to Responsible Care and the Annual Business Plan.
Manage operational costs related to Operation Technician staffing to support the unit as well as department overtime.
Participate in workforce planning to maintain operations support required for the unit.
Ensure required technician resources are available to support site and unit events such as plant turnaround and minor outages.
Support Conduct of Operations (COO) and Tenets of operations.
Participate in Facility Change Management (FCM) Turnovers as applicable.
Monitor daily plant operation and performance looking for opportunities to optimize existing plant capabilities.
Provide technical discipline leadership during plant turnarounds and minor outages to foster collaboration, leveraging learnings, and skill development.

Challenge the status quo and provide leadership in continuous improvement and change initiatives to drive improvement to business results and foster a learning organization.

Lead and provide technical expertise, with the ability to communicate effectively on issues across the organization, and demonstrate a collaborative work style (with peers, employees, etc.) within and across functions.

Gain alignment and resolve conflicts within cross-discipline work groups.


What We Are Looking For:


Post-secondary education and/or certification in a related field with a minimum of 10+ years of varied and increasing level of responsibility and technical experience in a manufacturing environment.

Demonstrated and sustained commitment to the principles of Responsible Care.
Knowledge of plant operations and risks.
Excellence in people leadership and communication that fosters accountability, ownership, and motivation of staff.
Ability to internalize values, mission, and vision of the business in order to externalize them to the organization.
Strong ability to balance strategic and tactical thinking considering the big picture, both short and long term.

Formal or informal leadership experience with a demonstrated track record to achieve results, ability to drive step change improvement and influence others.

Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with the ability to coach and develop teams and individuals through effective performance management.

The ability to adapt, learn and work in fast paced and dynamic environment and deal with ambiguity and complexity.

Location Information:

The NOVA Chemicals Manufacturing East Sites are located near Sarnia, Ontario.

The Sarnia Sites focus on the production of ethylene and polyethylene and is recognized as a cornerstone of Ontario's petrochemical industry.

Sarnia is situated on the south shore of Lake Huron at the headwaters of the St. Clair River, and just an hour from Detroit, Michigan, United States.


Additional Information:

Relocation will be considered for this position
Compensation will be commensurate with education and experience
This role requires up to 10% travel
Work will be conducted both indoors and outdoors in all seasons
Positions will include some lifting and climbing of ladders within various levels of the units
