Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintaining optimum inventory levels to ensure ontime deliveries to meet customer requirements
  • Responsible for continuing programs of exploration for new materials, suppliers, and processes to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, prices, continuity, and delivery
  • Interfacing with product line associates on the planning and forecasting of customer orders to meet shipments
  • Responsible for supplier training and development, to meet the materials department requirements.
  • Purchasing supplies and materials according to specifications
  • Responsible to ensure accurate forecast of parts requirements to suppliers.
  • Responsible to ensure the timely delivery of components to production.
  • Manage supplier delivery performance.
  • Ensuring that the company standard practices and procedures are followed in connection with all materials department functions
  • Review /Inspect all incoming material to insure they meet our setout requirements
  • Manage rejected material dispositioning/credits etc.
  • Establishing procedures and supervises the annual physical inventory
  • Accountable for the management of inventory turns.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Business, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing supply chain environment with progressing levels of responsibility.
  • Previous experience managing employees.
  • Expertise in materials planning, purchasing, logistics, and supplier management principles and best practices.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, financial planning, and business controls.
  • Strong customer interfacing skills
  • Strong computer, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and follow up skill
  • Exceptional time management, program management, and organization skills
  • Verbal and written communication skills, including presenting and facilitating team meetings.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and successfully manage multiple responsibilities.
  • ERP systems experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office
