YMCA of Northern Alberta is seeking a motivated individual that will provide outstanding leadership and operation management of Kickstand Integrated Youth Services Hub.

When it comes to mental well-being, we believe that connections can make a big difference. In the summer of 2024, the first Kickstand Integrated Youth Services (IYS) Hub will be launched in Edmonton.

The Kickstand IYS Hub will offer youth aged 12-25 years old free mental health support, access to primary care, peer support, cultural connections, and the opportunity to participate in a variety of skill development workshops.

The Kickstand IYS Hub is comprised of 16 youth serving agencies in Edmonton that will address the multiple needs of youth who access the Kickstand IYS Hub.


As a key member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing operational strategies that brings together the multiple partner agencies to address the needs of youth, agency staff and Kickstand IYS Hub.

Your role involves coordinating various aspects of program logistics, ensuring resources are efficiently allocated, and monitoring program performance against established goals.

You will work closely with the leadership team to identify areas for improvement, implement streamlined processes, and contribute to the overall enhancement of program effectiveness.

This position includes clear and transparent communication with all co-locating agencies, day to day operation of the building, community connection and awareness, and program growth.

The Program Manager will consistently collaborate with Kickstand team around, evaluation, core program stream, and Integrated Youth Services Hub program model.

The Program Manager will ensure the implementation of advisory committees that will directly influence the program delivery of the Integrated Youth Services Hub.


A willingness to work a flexible schedule is required as shifts may vary and will include evenings and weekends. This role is classified as a full-time contract position, and the incumbent will be eligible for an attractive benefits package.

  • Build an effective staff team: Recruit, hire, train, coach, supervise and manage all fulltime and parttime staff, volunteers, and practicum students within Integrated Youth Services Hub.
  • Support the staff, colocating agencies, volunteers and students and hold them accountable to the delivery of highquality programs and services through excellent relationships with participants, guardians, and natural supports.
  • Provide leadership of the Integrated Youth Services Hub model and adapt to meet the needs of youth aged 1225 from the community.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with multiple youth serving agencies operating within Integrated Youth Services Hub.
  • Network with key program stakeholders, community agencies, education, and business stakeholders to identify needs, receive referrals, coordinate program solutions and opportunities.
  • Represent YMCA Kickstand Integrated Youth Services Hub at relevant interagency community tables.
  • Work directly with Kickstand team to effectively evaluate Integrated Youth Services Hub for progress, outputs, and outcomes.
  • Ensure accurate utilization of Kickstand case management system, Greenspace.
  • Establish effective community relations relevant to the Integrated Youth Services Hub.
  • Market and promote Integrated Youth Services Hub to ensure high level of community awareness and support.
  • Manage within the approved program budget and maintain accurate expense and revenue records.
  • Demonstrate and promote a personal understanding of and appreciation for the mission, vision, and values and the YMCA programs and services.

What You'll Need for this Job

Education/Certifications/Credentials/Professional Registration

  • University Degree in Human Services or Mental Health field or equivalent.
  • Annual registration in a professional organization as required by law if applicable.
  • Standard First Aid, Child Welfare & and WHMIS Certification
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and Suicide Intervention Certification preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle is required.
  • Able to obtain a Police Information Check and Vulnerable sector and Child Intervention
