About the role
The area of selection is restricted to persons employed by the House of Commons, offices of Members of the House of Commons,
Library of Parliament, Office of the Senate Ethics Officer, Senate of Canada, Parliamentary Protective Service, Office of the Conflict of
Interest and Ethics Commissioner or office of the Parliamentary Budget Officer.
The Finance Officer is accountable for delivering services that involve the financial operations, analysis, monitoring and reporting of
expenditures and budgets managed by International and Interparliamentary Affairs (IIA). The position has responsibility for
exercising certification of financial information through review, analyses, recoveries, revenue management and reconciliations. The
incumbent performs assessments, drafts conclusions and makes recommendations with a view to assess financial management and
compliance with financial policies, procedures, acts and regulations and generally accepted accounting principles which emerge
from both House of Commons and the Senate. Responsibilities also require advising on the use of best practices in the areas of
accounting operations and business planning.

What you need Post-secondary diploma in field related to the duties of the position OR an acceptable combination of
Education
relevant education, training and experience.
- Experience compiling, analyzing and interpreting data from different sources;
- Experience in providing administrative support;
Experience Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite, especially with Microsoft Excel software;- Experience using an Integrated Financial System such as Business 4;
Other Experience in financial planning and budget preparation;
- Experience in conducting expenditure verification and accounting operations.
