Opportunity

Client Management teams play a lead role in delivering service excellence to 17 diverse clients across the Province of Alberta.

The teams work with clients and internal divisions across AIMCo to attain the objectives identified in client investment policies.

The Client Strategy & Business Planning function at AIMCo is designed to ensure consistent strategic alignment with clients' objectives.

Employing a client centric lens to initiatives within the organization, the team facilitates the planning and execution of client strategy, measures client feedback, and engages teams across AIMCo to improve efficiency in client offerings and enhance the overall client experience.


As a Manager on the Client Strategy & Business Planning team, you will attain exposure to clients, the opportunity to work with all teams across AIMCo and establish an extensive understanding of our clients' investment and service needs.

With a focus on developing a client centric organization and ongoing development of exceptional client service for AIMCo clients, you will support the team in advancing the Client Service Portal customization, develop and monitor progress on client initiatives and advance analytics and data visualization on client feedback.

You will enhance your project management skills as you play an integral role in ensuring the client initiatives stay on track and capture the key deliverables.

Leveraging your relationship building skills, you will work with other internal departments and play a key role in furthering the understanding of clients and their tailored needs within the organization.


Responsibilities

  • Partnering with multiple teams to develop client strategies and action plans in alignment with clients' investment objectives and service needs.
  • Serving as the client's advocate and enhancing client knowledge within AIMCo teams.
  • Developing, maintaining and improving as needed, the AIMCo wide client reporting to support thoughtful decision making for clients.
  • Continual development and enhancement of the Client Service Portal to accommodate additional client reporting and tailored communication and reporting needs of our clients.
  • Providing innovative ideas to improve the client experience through advanced projects and process efficiencies.
  • Responding to inquiries from clients and internal teams related to the Client Service Portal in a consultative and timely manner.
  • Preparing high impact documents, reports, and presentations to enable decision making and reporting at executive and board committees.
  • Embracing accountability, enhanced decision making and integrity to deliver on our cultural commitment of Doing Business the Right Way
  • University degree in Finance, Business or a related field
  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline, CFA or CPA designation is an asset
  • 5+ years of experience working in Investment Management, Investment Banking, Commercial Banking and/or Pension Funds
  • Knowledgeable of institutional investments, portfolio management, pension and/or endowment funds are an asset
  • Demonstrates a clear ability to analyze, interpret and articulate financial data and clearly communicate findings
  • Strong acumen in KPI development, measurement, and data analytics.
  • Advanced in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher). SQL and Power BI skills would be preferred
  • Organization & project management, ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
  • Advanced experience developing and presenting communication materials
  • Superior problemsolving skills, selfstarter, exceptional initiative and thrives under pressure while working in a fastpaced environment
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to AIMCo's core values of excellence, transparency, humility, integrity and collaboration, and inspires the same in others

Success Measures

Within the first year, the ideal Manager, Client Strategy & Business Planning will be operating as a trusted advisor and will have consistently demonstrated a high level of responsiveness to clients needs and built strong working relationships within the Fiduciary Management Division and within AIMCo.
