Reporting to Aecon's Corporate Marketing Manager, the Marketing Specialist, Utilities role is dedicated to supporting our dynamic Aecon Utilities sector, one of Canada's largest multidisciplinary utility infrastructure contractors and a leading provider of turnkey solutions in support of today's exciting energy transition market.

In this role, you will be working as a vital member of the Corporate Communications & Marketing Team in collaboration with business leads from the Utilities sector to support the development of multi-tiered, multi-faceted marketing assets and channels to support business development objectives in regional, national, and international markets.

This is also a unique opportunity to play a key role in growing Aecon's new Green Energy Solutions group, increasing the profile among both business and consumer clients through paid marketing, brand strategy, and project management.


What You'll Do Here:


  • Develop strategic relationships with Aecon business leads across our Utilities sector and work closely with each group to understand their respective businesses/industry sectors.
  • Determine the competitive market advantage(s) for each group and collaborate on the development of marketing and communications strategies to support brand awareness and revenuegeneration efforts in line with Aecon's Strategic Plan.
  • For Aecon's Green Energy Solutions, drive the buildout of B2B and B2C marketing collateral, B2C website development, and marketshare awareness and lead generation.
  • Project manage and lead ontime delivery of Utilitieswide content development efforts from ideation to implementation in collaboration with internal clients and Corp Comms/Corp Affairs teams.
  • Provide strategic direction and oversee deliverables for external marketing vendors.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing communications, or closely related field
  • Minimum 35 years of marketing experience, including demonstrated results in B2B and B2C marketing campaign development and related program delivery
  • Experience creating influential brand awareness and communications programs and successfully collaborating with business operations to implement
  • Experience creating and implementing paid campaigns on social media and/or Google Ads and Display Network
  • Basic understanding of web analytics and search engine optimization (SEO)
  • Highly collaborative team member with the ability to pivot quickly and respond effectively to evolving situations, providing consistent bestinclass services for our internal/external clients
  • Exceptional written/oral communications skills and storytelling lens; ability to think critically and transition complex ideas into clear, compelling content and meaningful messaging
  • Highly developed organizational and time management skills; ability to successfully plan and execute multiple priorities with tight deadlines and meticulous attention to detail
  • Thorough grasp of Microsoft Office suite of products (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, SharePoint)
  • Demonstrated experience developing creative assets such as infographics and presentations, and with digital platforms like Canva
  • Must have a valid Class G license and access to a vehicle for travel to job sites, as required
