    Architectural Designer / Intern Architect


    Vancouver, British Columbia


    Salary Range: $70k - $95k

    About the Job: This architecture firm in downtown Vancouver is looking for a creative Architectural Designer or Intern Architect who is eager to enhance their design skills and join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate should possess a solid design sense, excellent technical capabilities, and acute attention to detail. As an Architectural Designer, you will participate in all stages of the design process, from idea generation to construction documentation. Working closely with clients, project managers, and other designers, you will deliver outstanding architectural solutions.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Generate innovative design concepts for various project categories, such as multi-family residential, commercial, and senior living projects
    • Create detailed architectural drawings, renderings, and models using tools like AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
    • Collaborate with teams to establish project plans, budgets, and timelines
    • Perform site visits and assessments to gather project requirements
    • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure design integrity
    • Engage in client meetings, conveying design ideas effectively
    • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices for sustainable design solutions

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or related field
    • 7+ years of architectural design experience with a strong portfolio
    • Experience in multi-family wood-frame projects, preferably 4-6 storeys
    • Knowledge of Canadian building codes and bylaws
    • Proficiency in design software like AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
    • Understanding of building codes, standards, and construction processes
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
    • Interest in sustainable design or LEED accreditation is a bonus
