    Morrison Hershfield's Integrated Engineering Design (IED) group provides integrated engineering solutions to institutional, industrial, residential and commercial clients with a focus on transit, telecom, waste management, higher education and food/beverage facilities that require reliable and cost effective infrastructure for both new and retrofit solutions.

    The combined skills of our engineers, technicians and support personnel with their diverse backgrounds in design and construction provide clients with a team recognized as leaders in the field.

    As an Electrical Engineer at Morrison Hershfield Ltd., you will be responsible for the development, management, and execution of engineering projects.

    This includes major projects in British Columbia, and with the potential for other major projects across Canada. Further, locally, projects involving light industrial, commercial and institutional.
    Site assessments and reports based on existing building condition.
    Provide engineering calculations for electrical loads, lighting levels, for various building types and sizes.
    Design lighting systems and controls
    Design fire alarm and life safety systems (emergency lighting, emergency power)
    Design of security and access control systems.
    Conduct site review and provide field review reports as required
    Maintain project files and documentations in accordance with company procedures.
    Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
    ~ 6 or more years of experience with electrical systems, preferably in the consulting engineering industry.
    ~ Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2006 with ability to effectively communicate design intent to CAD staff.
    ~ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) applications.
    ~ Lighting design software knowledge is asset.
    ~ foreign language(s) a plus.
