    The Ministry of Highways is seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent interpersonal, organization and communication skills to join the Southern Operations team of the Operation and Maintenance Division. This position is headquartered in Regina.

    As Executive Assistant to the Regional Executive Director, you will determine and screen the action required on internal and external materials directed to the Executive Directors of the Southern Operations Branch, Design Branch and Operation Standards Branch, and ensure proper responses are provided. You will also coordinate various issues and projects on behalf of the executive directors related to program matters, including working with other executive and managers to identify and resolve issues. Proper management of these functions is essential to the time management of the three executive directors.

    In this permanent, full-time position, you will be a key resource to the executive directors in the preparation of material related to branch programs and performance. Maintaining confidentiality with politically sensitive or personal information will be expected.

    As Executive Assistant, you will liaise with the ministry's Executive Office in managing and coordinating issues, public complaints, correspondence, briefings, and general inquiries on behalf of the ministry related to issues in the Design and Construction Division and Operation and Maintenance Division. You will ensure appropriate distribution, follow up and administration of decision items, follow up and administration of requests for further information, or research requests on numerous policy, legislative and management issues. You will coordinate the preparation and review of correspondence prepared in the ministry that will be distributed under the signature of the Executive Director. You will also provide executive level support regarding OH&S legislation, regulations and ministerial policies.

    To qualify for the Executive Assistant position, you must be eligible to register for membership in the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS), have several years equivalent experience and general knowledge of highway design, construction, maintenance, traffic engineering, operation, contract administration, and contract law.

    This position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
