    Description

    Product Designer | Toronto, ON | Contract

    The Select Group is looking for a Product Designer to join a top 5 banking client in the Toronto area. This is a great chance to be part of a significant digital initiative that will notably impact our customers' online experiences.

    • Start Date: ASAP
    • Hybrid Work Requirements: 1 day on-site, 4 days remote per week

    Requirements:

    • Prior background in banking
    • Proficiency in Figma and working with design systems
    • Degree, diploma, or certification in UX Design, Human-Centered Design, Graphic Design, or relevant fields
    • Minimum of 5+ years' experience in designing digital products
    • Thorough knowledge of user experience design best practices, information architecture, and design thinking
    • Understanding of responsive web and mobile app design
    • Experience across project life cycles, in cross-functional teams, and using lean/agile design practices
    • Knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
    • Financial industry experience is an advantage
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
    • Familiarity with web analytics tools is a plus
    • Interest in mentoring and coaching junior designers

    Responsibilities:

    • Create comprehensive design solutions for online banking experiences across various channels and platforms
    • Develop detailed design specifications, including customer journey maps, wireframes, and prototypes
    • Collaborate with product owners, fellow designers, research teams, and developers
    • Collaborate with researchers to comprehend user needs through data analysis, benchmarking, interviews, surveys, and usability testing
    • Lead workshops and stakeholder sessions within agile delivery settings
    • Participate actively in a design team, mentoring junior designers and promoting best practices
    • Present design rationale in team demos and executive reviews
    • Ensure consistent use of design patterns, style guides, and accessibility standards
