At Sun Life, the HR Digital Experience Operations team is responsible for designing and deploying scalable technical solutions in Workday to better organize, understand and proactively deploy our current and future workforce needs.

This team is diverse in education and experience and prides themselves on their passion, innovative mindset, and collaborative work culture, while using modern agile principles.

Under the leadership of the Manager, HR Systems Management, you'll have a safe space to experiment, take calculated risks, and build on your colleague's strengths and expertise to achieve milestones.

As an HR Digital Experience Operations Analyst, you are curious and empathetic to users and their experiences.

You are creative with a natural ability to come up with alternative solutions to problems and find balance between the systems' capabilities and user needs to implement the best solutions.

What will you do?

  • Provide excellent tier2 level technical support and issue resolution for the business and the operations team
  • Support and lead system upgrades and manage communication plans to global stakeholders
  • Build and optimize Workday reports and dashboards to provide actionable insights and support decisionmaking processes
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness in Workday reports by validating data sources and implementing data quality controls
  • Configure and maintain Workday security roles, permissions and access controls according to Sun Life policies and regulatory requirements
  • Lead system implementations and integrations to support mergers and acquisitions
  • Ensure the accuracy, organization, and maintenance of tickets in our ticketing system (JIRA) with a primary focus on managing the lifecycle of Operational work while ensuring tickets are accurately labeled, sized, prioritized, and triaged
  • Clearly define and refine requirements and ensure focus is on high value and high impact work
  • Utilize Kainos automated testing tool to build and execute test cases, troubleshoot issues, and manage failed tests
  • Identify opportunities for system enhancements and propose innovative solutions to optimize the HR processes, drive automation, and improve user experience
  • Maintain accurate system documentation, including process workflows, system configurations, and standard operating procedures, to ensure knowledge sharing and facilitate system maintenance and upgrades
  • Develop a deep understanding and actively participate in the Workday Community platform by joining relevant groups, forums, and discussions to stay on the latest enhancements and best practices
  • Act as a functional prime for 1+ modules to manage any failed test, system errors and unexpected bugs
  • Train juniors and new team members on Operational Deliveries, configuration, issue resolution, workflows and requirement gathering
  • Facilitate and lead team huddles and provide regular updates across the team to ensure transparency of system changes

What do you need to succeed?

  • Strong configuration knowledge and experience of Workday (Core HCM, Recruiting, Time Tracking/Absence, Compensation) modules and functionality including how to configure, customize, build scalable solutions, and system maintenance
  • Strong understanding of security principles, practices, and standards
  • Experience in developing and customizing Workday reports, including advanced report writing skills
  • Experience supporting HRrelated tasks, processes, and services; knowledge of standard development stages and agile practices is an asset
  • Customer focused with strong communication skills and the ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships while working collaboratively with crossfunctional teams and stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure data integrity and highquality work; able to maintain discretion and confidentiality with sensitive information
  • Strong time management skills and ability to balance operational/urge
