    Software Testing Engineer Role Who We are

    Planar Motor Incorporated ("PMI"), is the global leader in planar motor-based smart conveying system design and production. We invent, design, manufacture, sell, and support planar motor-based smart conveying systems. We are headquartered in Richmond, BC, Canada with a subsidiary in Europe.     PMI's planar motor technology won the gold award in Motors and Mechanical Motion Devices category by Design News in 2019 for its unprecedented flexibility, precision, intelligence, re-configurability, scalability and traceability. Planar motors are smart industry robots that use magnetic forces for levitation and propulsion with six degrees of freedom. Planar motor-based smart conveying systems are ideal for applications ranging from clean to harsh environments and is a disruptive technology transforming the manufacturing industry. Nowadays, our products are used in solar panel manufacturing, food and pharmaceutical product packaging.

    The Ideal Candidate

    We are looking for a results-driven software testing engineer to be responsible for designing and running tests on software usability. You should:

    • Have a working knowledge of software and test design, the capability to run through tests and the ability to analyze results
    • Have attitudes to pursue excellence
    • Enjoy the challenges of working on truly innovative products
    • Can work in a team professionally
    • Are eager to learn and able to face challenges
    • Good Communication skills

    Major Responsibilities

    • Reviewing software requirements and preparing test scenarios
    • Executing tests on software usability
    • Analyzing test results on database impacts, errors or bugs, and usability
    • Preparing reports on all aspects related to the software testing carried out and reporting to the design team
    • Interacting with clients to understand product requirements
    • Participating in design reviews and providing input on requirements, product design, and potential problems

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors, Masters or Doctoral degrees in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Software Engineering, Engineering Physics, or equivalent
    • Proven record of excellence in engineering
