Business Development Manager - Ottawa, Canada - Axe Staffing & Recruiting
Description
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Directly responsible for development, enhancement and validation of financial models and projections for the Bins department.
- Various business initiatives and special projects
- Introduce benchmarking and competitive analysis to segment operating results
- Develop business cases in support of business initiatives and present results
- Support development of annual business plans and multiyear strategic plans for the Bins line of business
- A range of financial and statistical analyses, which may include topics in corporate finance, capital adequacy
- Partnering with crossfunctional teams to ensure all relevant organizational and project goals are being met
- Supervising the work of employees and providing feedback when necessary
- Identifying new areas of growth for the business and working with teams to put plans into action
- Ensuring a safe and secure workplace by making sure all government regulations and compliance standards are adhered to
- Suggesting new policies and procedures to help improve business profitability
- Working with internal stakeholders to implement new policies and procedures
- Coordinate daily operations (e.g. sales processes, orders and payments)
- Track the progress of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual objectives
- Evaluate employee performance and identify hiring and training needs
- Supervise and motivate staff to perform their best
- Coach and support new and existing employees
- Monitor operating costs, budgets and resources
- Communicate with clients and evaluate their needs
- Handle complaints from customers
- Create reports, analyze and interpret data, like revenues, expenses and competition
- Maximize fleet efficiency by ensuring the right equipment, drivers and loads are appropriately matched to maintain service standards and safe ontime delivery of services
- Deal effectively and tactfully with customers and employees and make decisions in a timely, professional manner
- Other duties and assignments as required
- Fluent in English and French
- 6+ years in a management or supervisory capacity will be required
- Strong Product/Brand Management experience, to defend and develop competitive marketing strategies
- Enhance and develop analytics, reporting and tools to support the Bins business targets
- Prepare adhoc financial analysis to support business line decision making
- Provide data modeling to support financial projections
- Good math skills with the ability to create and analyze reports, spreadsheets and sales statistics
- Leadership and organizational abilities
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Problemsolving attitude
- Highly detail oriented and able to work under pressure with strong communication skills
- Strong computer skills, able to easily adapt to new software
- Dedicated commitment to providing superior, timely internal and external customer service

- Highly organized with the ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines

EDUCATION:
University degree in Business Management or similar discipline. (Equivalent experience also considered)
