    This temporary assignment is a one-year backfill for parental leave.

    The position is responsible for providing strategic direction to the Project and leading a multi-disciplinary team during the construction phase through to project completion and is second-in-command to the Executive Project Director.

    On the Broadway Subway Project (BSP), this role focuses on effective oversight of the technical, construction, safety, quality, and scheduling aspects of the project.

    Leads, directs, oversees and provides strategic direction to a team of professional level resources responsible for the delivery of the Project, including environment, indigenous engagement, stakeholder relations, communications, regulatory engagement, commercial, engineering, finance and project controls.

    Maintains high-level knowledge of and insight into the strategic aspects of the Project, including environmental, Indigenous consultation, technical, commercial, and engagement matters to step in for the Executive Project Director as and when required.

    Maintains effective working relationship with project's design-build contractor and oversees the contract administration.
    Hires, develops and manages a multi-disciplinary staff, including both unionized and non-unionized employees in a matrix environment.

    Manages private sector consultants through contract development, evaluation, and performance of the work, including assignment of work, performance management, and integration on the project team, while maintaining full compliance to TI Corp policies and procedures.

    Ensures all professional, technical, engagement and administrative resources are efficiently organized to provide maximum benefit to the project and the Province and achieve long term performance objectives.

    Provides management and interface for all functions of the Project, and liaises with TI Corp staff, Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, municipalities, and other government and non-government agencies.

    Establishes, maintains and implements project planning tools, including a project management plan, work breakdown structure and work plans to enable successful delivery of the Project.

    Oversees the project management monitoring and control processes, including change management and risk management, to maintain a current forecast of cost and schedule against the Project's baselines.

    Provides advice on contract administration, project estimates and schedules, human resources, project management systems, and other requirements.

    Oversees and guides the development of regular, timely and informative progress reports, executive briefings, presentations and other materials to both internal and external parties.

    Oversees the development and maintenance of constructive relationships with Indigenous groups and key stakeholders, working collaboratively to identify and mitigate risks, develop solutions, minimize negative impacts and remove obstacles that may impact project success.

    Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with senior officials in governments, external agencies and organisations, and the private sector.

    Attends stakeholder and community meetings to discuss issues and foster a collaborative approach to support the success of the Project.

    Degree in business administration, public administration, construction management or engineering, and considerable recent leadership level project delivery experience on major infrastructure projects, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Senior level experience in the construction of large and complex infrastructure projects requiring extensive coordination between government, Indigenous groups, regional agencies, regulators and communities.

    Familiarity with safety, quality management and scheduling best practices for civil infrastructure projects, and experience applying them in the construction phase.

    Experience with the design-build environment and supporting the administration of claims.

    Proven ability to develop and maintain collaborative and effective working relationships within a multi-disciplinary project team, contractor team, indigenous groups, and with external agencies.

    Leading and coaching multi-disciplinary teams in a matrix environment, including the training and development of technical and non-technical staff.

    A strategic doer with the ability to assess and analyze complex situations, and the humility to contribute as required to meet project objectives.

    An innovative and solution orientated approach to project delivery, demonstrating a strategic and tactical approach to identifying and managing both risks and opportunities to project success.
