    GFL Environmental is looking for a Senior QA Engineer to join our team in Vaughan, ON

    Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop test automation frameworks that adhere to best practices, design, and coding standards.
  • Collaborate closely with software engineers and the project team to ensure the deliverables meet quality requirements and test coverage.
  • Perform functional, system, integration, and regression testing.
  • Develop a robust and maintainable repository of automated tests.
  • Log defects and work closely with engineers to troubleshoot and verify fixes.
  • Create quality status reports and escalate issues effectively to the project team.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Provide leadership in the form of coaching and guidance to QA Analyst.
  • Collaborate with QA Manager to help develop standards and recommend new practices, processes and technologies where required.

    • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent program.
  • Minimum 5+ years of QA experience with a focus on test automation.
  • Proficiency in automated testing tools and frameworks such as Playwright and Cypress.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and integrating automated tests into build pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps Pipelines).
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, including white-box, regression, and integration testing.
  • Familiarity with SQL and experience testing against Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced hyper-collaborative Agile environment.
  • Must be a self-driven individual willing to proactively undertake any QA tasks as time progresses.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    • Preferred Skills:

  • Minimum 2 year of hands-on experience with testing enterprise applications developed in Extjs and/or Svelte.
  • Hands-on experience in testing modern PWAs developed in Svelte and React.
  • Working knowledge of Java and JavaScript/TypeScript.
