As the Geospatial Analyst, you will work with a variety of teams and clients to deliver Geographic Information System (GIS) services. Primary duties include:
  • Acquire, maintain and optimize business unit and corporate geospatial datasets.
  • Provide GIS solutions by designing geospatial processes, developing and executing GIS analysis and reporting, providing cartographic products, conducting public safety industry research and solution identification, and writing support reports and documentation.
  • Provide a variety of desktop and web based mobile platform solutions for first responders.
  • Research, develop and offer location-driven routing solutions for emergency response.
  • Resolve business issues by researching geospatial technologies related to emergency preparedness, prevention, response, recovery and mitigation; learn industry trends and document research information with others.
  • Qualifications
  • A completed 2 year diploma in Applied GIS or Geography plus at least 3 years of related experience; OR a degree in GIS or Geography plus at least 1 year of related experience.
  • An intermediate level of proficiency in GIS software is required.
  • An intermediate level understanding and use of relational and object oriented databases and knowledge of Safe software's Feature Manipulation Engine (FME) and/or Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) ModelBuilder is required.
  • Knowledge and experience with LiDAR data processing and Photogrammetry and image processing is required.
  • The following are considered to be assets: Experience with extracting 3D data derived from aerial, terrestrial, and mobile point clouds for various applications, including updating GIS asset databases. Familiarity with seam editing orthophotos from aerial photography, for the purpose of creating accurate photogrammetry maps.
