    Description

    Your Opportunity:

    Join South Health Campus (SHC), a unique hospital campus designed to incorporate nature and promote a healing environment. The Respiratory Services department focuses on patient-centered care, teamwork, innovation, and wellness. As a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), you will lead in the field of Respiratory Therapy, collaborating with diverse teams to diagnose and manage patients with cardiopulmonary disorders. Educate patients, students, staff, and physicians. Drive process improvement, maintain professionalism, and advocate for patients in alignment with AHS care principles. Additionally, provide technical support for Respiratory Therapy equipment. RRTs at SHC work across all areas supported by Respiratory Services, adjusting daily assignments as needed. Show continuous professional growth, foster collaborative relationships, and demonstrate strong communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Manage priorities, make autonomous decisions, resolve conflicts effectively, and foster a positive work environment.

    Description:

    As a Respiratory Therapist I, assess patients, develop care plans, and monitor progress. Manage diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and interventions. Collaborate with clinical teams to improve outcomes, provide training, and educate healthcare providers, patients, and families on diseases, medications, and treatments.

    Required Qualifications:

    Active or eligible registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA).

    Additional Required Qualifications:

    Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy. Current BLS certification. Minimum 6 months' experience in independent Respiratory Therapy in an inpatient acute care hospital. Physical requirements include prolonged standing/walking, exposure to infectious diseases, and assisting in patient care activities.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Current ICU, ED, Wards, NICU experience. NRP/PALS/ACLS certifications. CRE/CAE/CTE certifications. Completed SHC Orientation. Trained for Charge/Float/Outreach roles. Competency in arterial line insertion and adult intubation. NICU Case Room and Intubation proficiency.
