Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Financial Analyst will deliver high-value, actionable financial performance insights to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).

The Financial Analyst is responsible for leading forecast cycles, advising on the financial impacts of the monthly management reporting of results and will provide financial planning, analysis, and commentary support on a scheduled and ad-hoc basis for the organization.

This role also is responsible for the portfolio management of funders for financial reporting. The key deliverables include preparation of monthly business review, annual budget, forecast cycles and ad-hoc support.


Organizational Alignment and Performance Duties:

Reporting: Prepare monthly management reports at the entity level accurately and timely

  • Manage and prepare financial reports to funders on various frequency
  • Liaise with program leads staff to gather information required for funder reporting
  • Design and implement new reports to better meet the needs of end user and to conform to the strategic direction of the organizations. Prepare adhoc financial reports as requested
  • Partner with key stakeholders to improve process efficiency and accuracy

Analysis: Analyze financial results and develop meaningful insights that lead into actions for business decision making.

  • Prepare regular and adhoc financial analysis and reports as requested or appears appropriate
  • Assist organizations' staff in providing information for better decisionmaking and achievement of the organization goals and objectives

Modelling: Develop and maintain cash requirements models and scenarios on a various frequency

  • Manage the financial models used for longrange financial analysis and valuation
  • Assist Financial Controller, in the development of key financial metrics and tracking systems
  • On behalf of participating organizations, develop and maintain financial planning models to ensure accurate and timely analysis of forecasting, budgeting, annual and strategic planning.
  • Support Financial Controller in gathering of data and creation of templates for Finance annual/strategic planning
  • Be an active member of the Finance team; willing to mentor and coach peers, brainstorm issues, complete adhoc requests, and be flexible in completing any task
  • Act as backup in financial reporting of program audits

    CUPS leadership and other stakeholders to support solid foundation of accounting and financial decisions across the agency

  • Support continuous improvement process for
    CUPS service delivery through highlighting areas for growth in
    CUPS philanthropy activities
  • Act as an ambassador of
    CUPS mission and values both internally and externally

Stakeholder Relations:


  • Develop and maintain collaborative and accountable working relations with internal
    CUPS colleagues to strengthen communication flow, achieve team objectives and increase crossdepartment understanding
  • Contribute to the safety and wellness of clients, colleagues and visitors by remaining up to date on
    CUPS health & safety protocols
  • Share experience and knowledge with students, volunteers and guests interested in
    CUPS services to further develop
    CUPS' social justice impact & external ambassador network

Background required:


  • CPA Accounting designation or working towards CPA Designation
  • Minimum 3 years' financial analyst experience, preferably within a multilevel organization with exposure to costing of operational decisions and budgeting/forecasting
  • Demonstrated skill in financial modeling, and forecasting
  • Proven ability to conduct detailed financial analysis, synthesizing insights into clear and concise presentation materials
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational and stress management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel
  • Ability to work with little to no supervision
  • Highly detailoriented and able to analyze, problem solve and troubleshoot;
  • Ability to deal with confidential information professionally
  • Ability to work as a team player as well as independently;
  • Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT experience is an asset
