The Electrical Preventative Maintenance Technician performs condition monitoring technical readings using thermography, ultrasound, and oil sampling, on electrical equipment at plants in Eastern Canada.

They will be involved in setting up and running programs to detect faults and improve the availability and performance of plant electrical assets.

They will also be required to use the technology on mechanical and industrial process equipment.


WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

  • Perform infrared thermographic measurements, using infrared cameras, on industrial equipment, mainly at the electrical level, but also at the mechanical and process levels
  • Perform ultrasonic measurements, using ultrasonic probes and cameras, on industrial equipment, mainly at the electrical level, but also at the mechanical and process levels
  • Take oil samples from electrical equipment
  • Perform data analysis using software and document results
  • Prepare reports and make technical recommendations while interacting with customers
  • Collaborate in the execution of corrective electrical work in the plant
  • Implement and improve plant reliability (infrared thermography program)

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • DEC in electrical engineering, industrial electronics, industrial maintenance technology or electrical engineering with 1 to 5 years' relevant experience
  • Certificate of qualification issued by Emploi Quebec (licence C other than construction)
  • Ability to demonstrate expertise in the interest of the customer
  • Professional attitude, good people skills, autonomy and initiative
  • Ability to communicate in French and functional English
  • Able to write concise, explicit reports that ensure understanding of recommendations
  • Available to travel in Eastern Canada 50% of the time
  • Computer skills, especially in Windows & MS Office environment
