    Description
    We are currently recruiting an experienced

    Design Systems Application Engineer (Powertrain)

    to join our team supporting our client in the automotive industry.


    NOTE:
    Must be willing and able to travel to the USA, without restrictions, effective on the start date


    RESPONSIBILITIES:


    Manages the development of the Applications Matrix including all interface requirements for given programs including all variants and various vehicle platformsCoordinates packaging studies with each vehicle application to ensure all clearance requirements are met.

    Leads advanced vehicle adaptation designs studies and freezesUpdates and coordinates approvals of International Product Spec releasesUpdates and coordinates approvals of owners manualsUpdates and coordinates approvals of CP, Compliance Report StandardsNegotiates requirements with vehicle platforms based on product limitations and capabilitiesOwns the Transmission Technical Specifications (TTS) and communicates application specific requirements to the team (i.e.

    max torque, NVH, FE, tire size, FDR selection, mass, etc)Defines and tracks adherence to robust vehicle level and system level/sub-system functional objectivesCoordinates external design changes that require platform approval. Perform TOS as required.
    Develops, manages & communicates external issues and change management.

    Responsible for the review and approval of the Application Checklist for each CNCoordination of application specific designs (torque converter, dampers, vents, LV & HV wire connections, bracket attachments, trans oil cooling, PIM and e-motor integration, etc) including controls & calibration strategiesRepresents chief organization on vehicle assembly plant requirements & events (i.e.

    supports pilot builds, EOL test, VIN marking, build issues, etc.). Development Manager leads vehicle assembly issues. AE supports.
    Leads Build Readiness tasks (instrumentation plan, dyno support)Coordinates COE assessments of bulletins and AT engineering response to bulletins

    REQUIRED SKILLS &


    QUALIFICATIONS:


    Bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering or equivalentMinimum 2 years of engineering experience in automotive transmission and/or driveline design, releasing, development, validation, calibration, manufacturing, etc.

    Demonstrated written and oral communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)


    PREFERRED:
    Previous experience in automotive or related industry
