Unit Summary
The 6 West unit specializes in the acute post surgical care for orthopedics and spine patients. Our surgical teams include surgeons specializing in orthopedic, orthopedic spine and neurosurgical spine interventions. We are looking for staff who enjoy working in a fast paced, highly skilled environment. We have a multi-disciplinary team approach towards our patient care. The unit is located at the General site.
Position SummaryThe Occupational Therapist practices in accordance with the Code of Ethics established by the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists. The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for the provision of assessments, treatment interventions, discharge planning and community liaison. Some coverage to other clinical areas will be provided as needed.
Schedule Work HoursMonday to Friday; days
This position is temporary until May 2025.
Qualifications 1.Registered with the College of Occupational Therapist of Ontario
2. Graduate of an approved program in Occupational Therapy
3. Excellent time management, problem solving and team work skills
4. Excellent verbal/written communication skills
5. Previous experience within a Spinal Cord environment an asset
6. ADP authorizer an asset
