- Conduct training workshops and knowledge exchanges
- Customize CAWST workshops and resources to suit clients' contexts and requirements
- Identify opportunities and design training, networking, and client support projects
- Cultivate strong client relationships
- Offer consulting support to help clients tackle challenges and surmount implementation obstacles. This includes in-person, online, and remote consulting via chat services.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to create and modify virtual, blended, and face-to-face training on various topics related to water, sanitation, hygiene, behavior change, and instructional design and delivery
- Utilize Talent, Articulate Storyline, social media platforms, and other technologies to develop engaging learning materials accessible to audiences with varying levels of internet connectivity
- Assist in producing content suitable for the culture, context, and literacy levels of diverse adult learners
- Lead and support data collection to gauge reach and impact
- Identify knowledge gaps and requirements, and support research activities
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of country contexts, client organizations, and key water and sanitation challenges
- Foster relationships with potential funders and manage existing and new connections in your areas of influence
- Collaborate with Training Organizations and Partners to enhance their skills and capacities to replicate CAWST's capacity development services for client organizations
- Identify new local partner organizations in your region or areas of influence. Build relationships and explore collaboration opportunities
- Bachelor's or graduate degree in engineering, sciences, public health, or related fields. Preference given to a P.Eng.
- Over 5 years of experience in implementing Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) programs, with significant expertise in delivering training and capacity development services. Experience in a consulting or advisory capacity is advantageous.
- Extensive experience in managing projects in the WASH sector is highly desirable
- Proficient in written and spoken English
- Proficiency in written and spoken French, Spanish, and/or Arabic is a plus
- Strong technical knowledge and skills in implementing water, sanitation, and hygiene interventions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; adept at engaging with diverse audiences to establish connections and inspire individuals
- Able to foster a participatory learning environment using varied cross-cultural, participatory training and facilitation methods
- Positive attitude, inquisitive nature, and proactive approach
- Problem-solving mindset; capable of collaborating with clients to resolve issues and overcome obstacles
- Service-oriented; consistently strives to deliver high-quality professional service to clients and colleagues
- Quickly builds credibility with clients and stakeholders

Job DescriptionThe Global WASH Advisor (Africa) is a key member of the Global Services team at CAWST. In this role, you will leverage your expertise as a dedicated Learning professional to provide top-notch WASH services in Africa. The position is based in Calgary and requires eligibility to work in Canada.
You will collaborate directly with client organizations to enhance their capacity in initiating, strengthening, and expanding their WASH programs. This will involve delivering CAWST's core range of online, blended, and face-to-face training materials aimed at enhancing access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH). Your responsibilities will include offering expert technical training and continuous consulting support to assist clients in overcoming technical and implementation hurdles. Additionally, you will engage with Training Partners and Organizations to bolster their capacity development services.
Your Key Responsibilities
Training / Consulting / Mentoring
Utilize your WASH proficiency and background to train client organizations to launch and manage WASH programs and services through workshops, apprenticeships, and mentoring. Your objective will be to enhance the skills of WASH practitioners at various levels and roles.
