We are currently looking for

two Contract Managers in a

Permanent Position

to join the Eastern Clean Energy Initiative (ECEI) team. Reporting to the Director Business Strategy, you will be responsible for assisting in the coordination and development of the contracting strategy for each of the ECEI program work streams such as batteries and transmission upgrades.


As Contracts Manager, you will:


  • Follow established procurement policy and procedures when conducting procurements for the Project.
  • Assume the lead role in the development of prequalification questionnaires, request for proposals, contract exhibits and compensation mechanisms, commercial review and assessment, negotiations and award. Work with Company's legal counsel to finalize contract terms and conditions.
  • Coordinate review of contractual exceptions for major procurements with Engineering & Environment, Legal, Finance, and Tax etc.
  • Member of the contract negotiation team with responsibility for finalization of contract negotiations with successful proponent.
  • Assist the various project team members as needed in the daytoday management of executed contracts.
  • Assist the Project Manager in the contract management of major contracts. Review and confirm contractor monthly reports, progress / milestone claims, invoicing and change requests against the approved contract schedules, budgets and scope of work.
  • Make such business trips and field visits as may be necessary or required by the Project.
  • Assure project contract needs and schedules are met. Assure timely execution of contracts including obtaining required approvals.
  • Ensure proper authorities and compliances are maintained.


You will be responsible for your personal safety and that of your co-workers by observing all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.

You will be accountable for environmental performance as it relates to the environmental management system processes and initiatives.


What skills will make you successful?

  • You are knowledgeable and experience with industry contracting/procurement practices.
  • Have experience in the development of procurement documents, contractual terms and conditions, proponent prequalification, analysis criteria, proposal evaluation, contractor selection and contract negotiations.
  • Be a high performer who delivers more than what is expected.
  • Are a selfstarting, proactive individual capable of working independently, in a team environment, and with contractor personnel.
  • Must have the ability to communicate in an effective and nontechnical manner and exceptional organizational skills are essential.
  • Have demonstrated successful experience in the development of contracting strategies and contracting agreements.
  • Experience in construction claims management and or quantity surveillance would be an asset.
