Job Description:


This is a 6-Month Contract Role
Purpose of Position

Responsible for web page creation, accessibility, optimization, and publishing on FSRA's website. To provide support to the Communications Services team in ensuring that overall web strategy is adhered to.


Key Responsibilities- Uses content management system (Drupal) to format content and publish FSRA's web pages using HMTL and basic CSS.- Recommends search engine optimization (SEO) strategies to maximize the online visibility of FSRA's website in search results.- Proofreads content for style, accuracy and quality and complies with FSRA's web standards.- Monitors, maintains, and executes content updates.- Contributes to UX/UI, accessibility best practices and responsive design to maximize web usability.- Collaborates with the Communications Services team to ensure timely production of website updates and that content complies with the accessibility standards of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.- Monitors web traffic and usage using analytical tools (e.g., Google Analytics) and works with the team to support analytical reporting.- Contributes to the development of web reporting (e.g., What Went Live, etc.) by maintaining data on- Participates in web project development including testing when new code is pushed from staging to production environments.


Qualifications:


Education and Experience:

  • Degree/Diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field. 1 year of experience in content production/management or related field.
  • Familiarity with Drupal or similar system.
  • Familiarity with Gitlab or similar system.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge and understanding of content creation and production processes, content management systems, usability, and accessibility practices and responsive design as required by the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.
  • Knowledge of and basic proficiency with HTML and CSS.
  • Knowledge of and basic proficiency with Adobe CC.
  • Writing and editing skills to write and edit copy.
  • Project management skills to coordinate production processes.
  • Strong organization, time management and multitasking skills and the ability to work with mínimal supervision, taking initiative without direction, and to use time efficiently by effectively prioritizing work.
  • Holds high content standards and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
